seeking a General Radiologist with strong cardiothoracic imaging
skills to join a collegial, mission-driven team caring for Veterans
in a major academic and referral center. Position Overview
Specialty: Diagnostic Radiology (General with cardiothoracic
emphasis) Employer: Department of Veterans Affairs – Veterans
Health Administration Location: Detroit, Michigan (onsite only; not
a virtual position) Schedule: Negotiable; primary options include
Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday–Friday, 1:00 p.m.–9:30
p.m. Rotation of evenings/weekends as needed Practice Setting John

Medicine Collaborative team of radiologists, technologists, and
support staff Opportunities for teaching residents and
technologists; research interest welcome but not required Imaging
Environment Work with a modern, expanding imaging service that
includes: 3T PET-MRI and 3T wide-bore MRI Dual-source multidetector
CT State-of-the-art X-ray systems Two fluoroscopy systems
Angiography suite Oncologic and cardiovascular radiology are key
areas of focus, with interventional involvement encouraged but not
mandatory. Key Responsibilities Interpret a full range of studies:
X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Fluoroscopy.
Review imaging orders for appropriateness and prescribe/adjust
protocols as needed. Ensure image quality and safety in alignment
with American College of Radiology standards. Provide timely,
accurate reports and directly communicate time-sensitive or
critical results. Interact with patients, when appropriate, to
obtain relevant clinical information. Collaborate with referring
clinicians to support coordinated, patient-centered care.
Participate in tumor boards, medical staff meetings, quality and
safety activities. Support academic programs through teaching and
supervision of trainees. Qualifications MD or DO degree.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology; ABR
preferred. Fellowship training in cardiothoracic imaging preferred.
U.S. Citizenship required; non-citizens may be considered when
qualified citizens are not available, per VA policy. Unrestricted
license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory.
Proficiency in written and spoken English. Total Rewards The VA
